GRP Raised Step-Over Platform – Increased Height Access Solution (210–300 mm Clearance)
Our GRP Raised Step-Over Platforms are engineered to provide safe, elevated access over pipework, cabling and other low-lying services where additional height clearance is required. Manufactured using durable GRP grating and pultruded GRP I-Beam supports, these platforms deliver exceptional strength, high slip resistance and long-lasting performance in demanding industrial environments.
Ideal for factories, warehouses, chemical sites, maintenance areas and any location where staff need to navigate safely over ground-level obstacles.
Key Features & Benefits
Increased Height for Greater Clearance
Designed to provide 210–300 mm clearance, these platforms offer a higher step-over solution than standard units. This makes them ideal for bridging taller pipe runs, electrical conduits and service lines.
Robust GRP Construction
Made from corrosion-resistant fibreglass materials:
No rust or rot
Lightweight yet extremely strong
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications
Low maintenance and long service life
Anti-Slip GRP Grating Surface
Each platform includes a high-grip, anti-slip gritted top surface with contrasting anti-slip nosing on both sides to improve visibility and reduce the risk of slips and trips.
Reliable Support Structure
Two GRP C-Channels are securely joined to create the increased height range. Pultruded GRP I-Beams provide structural stability while maintaining a lightweight profile.
Sizing & Technical Specifications
Clearance Height: 210–300 mm
Overall Height: approx. 248–338 mm
Platform Surface: Anti-slip GRP grating with contrasting nosing
Span: The bridging dimension (see below)
Delivery: Usually 3–4 working days
Dimensions: All measurements are approximate and may vary due to manufacturing tolerances
Important Span Information
The GRP C-channel used in this design includes a 60 mm lip (8–9.5 mm thick) on both sides.
If the obstruction you are bridging sits directly on the ground or up to the underside of the grating, the usable span will reduce by approximately 120 mm.
Typical Applications
Bridging over pipework or electrical cables
Providing safe access around plant, machinery or service lines
Lightweight podium-style elevation for reaching higher work areas
Creating compliant walkways in industrial and commercial settings
These platforms provide a long-term, corrosion-free alternative to metal step-over systems, making them suitable for both outdoor and harsh chemical environments.
