Our glow in the dark stair nosings charge from normal ambient light and then emit a green glow when the lights go out, marking every step edge during a power failure or an evacuation. They pair that photoluminescent strip with the same gritted anti-slip surface as our standard GRP nosings, so they improve grip in daylight and visibility in darkness.
They are most often specified on escape routes, stairwells, fire exits and any stair where a loss of lighting would leave people descending in the dark. No wiring or power supply is needed, so there is nothing to fail and no running cost. We cut to size free of charge and deliver quickly across the UK.

Photoluminescent glow in the dark stair nosings
Glow in the dark stair nosings make every step edge visible when the lights go out, which is exactly when people are most likely to fall on a staircase. The luminescent pigment is built into the GRP and charges from ordinary daylight or artificial light, then glows in darkness with no wiring, batteries or maintenance.
They combine that glow with a coarse anti-slip grit surface, so they add grip every day as well as guiding people during a power cut or evacuation. They are ideal for escape stairs, stairwells, cinemas, schools, hospitals and any building where low light is a risk.
