Our aluminium stair nosings combine a rigid metal carrier with an anti-slip grit infill, giving a hard-wearing step edge for stairs that take heavy footfall. The metal body stands up well to impact and wheeled traffic, which makes them a common choice for internal stairwells, entrances, plant rooms and public buildings.
Nosings are supplied pre-drilled and countersunk ready to screw down, in a range of widths and lengths, and we cut to size in our own facility so they fit your treads without trimming on site. Aluminium stair nosings for internal staircases
Aluminium stair nosings give indoor stairs a slim, professional edge with a gritted anti-slip insert running down the middle. They are a popular choice for offices, shops, schools and communal areas where you want a neat finish, and they fit most stair edges including carpeted steps.
Choose from a 55mm x 55mm profile, our Building Regulations option, or a slimmer 70mm x 30mm profile, in silver/grey or yellow, and lengths from 1000mm to 3000mm. For outdoor or wet steps we recommend GRP stair nosings instead.

Are aluminium stair nosings suitable for outdoor use?
They are designed for internal stairs. For external steps and fire escapes, GRP nosings with a coarse grit finish are the better choice.
Which is better, aluminium or GRP stair nosings?
Aluminium gives a sleek look indoors and suits carpeted stairs. GRP is tougher in the wet, will not corrode and is the better option outside. Our GRP vs aluminium guide compares them in detail.
