Manufactured from high-quality fibreglass (GRP) with a hard-wearing slip-resistant grit surface, these stair nosings dramatically improve underfoot traction and help prevent slips, trips and falls.

Suitable for internal and external steps, GRP stair nosings can be installed on almost any surface, including carpeted stairs, worn edges and older steps that have become hazardous over time. They are quick to retrofit, instantly improving step visibility and safety.

Our GRP stair nosings are available in two popular profile sizes:

• 70mm x 30mm – ideal for retrofitting onto existing steps

Each nosing features a chamfered back edge for a neat finish. You can choose from:

• Heavy-duty external grit – one of the toughest anti-slip grits available, designed for outdoor steps and wet environments
• Fine internal grit – suitable for indoor stairways and areas requiring a smoother finish

Installation is straightforward using a simple glue-and-screw method, meaning the steps can be used again almost immediately. Our stair nosings fit most step edges and help you meet DDA and Building Regulation compliance.

What sizes do GRP stair nosings come in?

Two profiles cover most steps: standard 55 x 55mm and slimline 70 x 30mm. We cut every nosing to the exact width of your steps free of charge.

Do GRP stair nosings meet Building Regulations?

Fitted in a contrasting colour, they give each step edge the 55mm visually distinctive strip that Approved Document K and BS 8300 look for, and the gritted surface comfortably exceeds the PTV 36 low slip risk threshold, even in the wet.

How do I fix them to the steps?

Use exterior grade adhesive, screws or both. They fit concrete, timber, steel and stone steps, and most installs take a few minutes per step.

Do you make glow in the dark stair nosings?

Yes. Our GRP GLOW photoluminescent nosings charge in normal light and glow in darkness, marking escape routes during a power failure.

How long do they last?

GRP nosings shrug off weather, corrosion and heavy footfall, and ours are covered by a 10 year guarantee.
